In our commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and to the mission of the Church, through the enabling of the Holy Spirit, we want each woman to develop into the person that God plans for her to be and in this process help to build up this community of faith and serve God's world.
Women's Ministries at First Baptist Church include small groups called circles, that meet monthly for fellowship, Bible or book studies and spiritual nurture. There are also a number of special events planned each year for the spiritual nourishment of women. They vary from a coffee time for prayer and sharing, to service opportunities to a special Women's Sunday. Other events are planned as the Holy Spirit nudges us and as opportunities arise.
Women are encouraged to use their gifts in our church in any way that they feel God has called them. These opportunities are those that are specifically focused on women. Those who feel they have a gift of hospitality may wish to join the various kitchen help groups that serve weddings, funeral receptions, church dinners and other church functions.
Women's Ministries give gifts to missionaries, support mission offerings, keep in touch with prayer requests and activities of missionaries, and collect, prepare and send supplies as they are requested from various ministries in the United States and around the world (White Cross). We also participate in retreats and gatherings with other American Baptist churches in the northern part of the state.
Please join us. We are eager to have you contact us if you are interested in joining one of our circles. We meet at a variety of times and places.
Come and join
us as we grow in the knowledge of God and the scripture.
